Tryout Information

Your attitude is something you have complete control of and will influence everything you do in life. A positive attitude helps build confidence.

tryout info

During tryouts, players are evaluated on not only individual offensive and defensive basketball skills but on fundamentals, teamwork and other intangibles including “coach ability”.

tryout info

To be eligible for any travel basketball team a player must attend at least one tryout in the fall.

tryout info

Medical waivers in lieu of attending tryouts will only be granted by the Executive Board but note that an approved waiver does not guarantee a roster slot.

tryout info

Unfortunately there may not be enough roster spots for all who have tried out. In the likelihood of cuts players who do not make a team will be placed on an alternate list and if a subsequent roster spot becomes available they will be contacted directly.

tryout info

Players who, for whatever reason, either quit the travel team or are removed from the team due to a code of conduct violation are removed from any future consideration for the remainder of the travel basketball year.

tryout info

Evaluators will consist of Byram Hills Junior Bobcat coaches and/or board members who can provide an honest, objective assessment of an individual’s skills and ability to play on a travel basketball team.

tryout info

Even though travel coaches should try their best to provide each player with playing time in each game, playing time is not guaranteed.
